Please give as much notice as possible. For cancellations more than 48 hours before arrival, any deduction will reflect reasonable direct costs or losses. Within 48 hours, payment may be retained only up to the cattery’s reasonable direct loss, including a unit that cannot reasonably be rebooked; any greater balance will be returned. If the cattery cancels and cannot provide the stay, payment for the unprovided service will be refunded. Mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
A current veterinary vaccination record is required. West End Cattery may refuse admission if evidence is missing, the cat appears unwell or admission could risk welfare or infection control. Required protection includes feline panleukopenia / infectious enteritis and feline respiratory viruses. Homeopathic vaccination is not accepted.
Owners must provide accurate contacts, emergency contact, usual vet, insurance, medical and behavioural history, diet, vaccination, worming, flea treatment and medication details, and must report changes before arrival.
An ill, injured or potentially infectious cat may be moved to a separate self-contained isolation facility. Barrier-nursing procedures and dedicated equipment are used. Veterinary advice and prompt treatment will be obtained when needed; reasonable attempts will be made to contact the owner without delaying urgent care.
The owner is responsible for reasonable costs arising from illness, pre-existing conditions or natural causes, except where caused by the cattery’s negligence, breach of contract or statutory duty. Necessary emergency treatment may exceed the stated spending limit if delay would harm welfare and no authorised person can be reached.
Medicines must arrive in original labelled packaging with clear instructions. Every dose or attempted dose is recorded. The cattery may refuse treatment it cannot safely, lawfully or competently administer.
Cats may become ill, experience stress or deteriorate from underlying or naturally occurring conditions despite reasonable care. This acknowledgement does not exclude liability for negligence, breach of statutory duty, failure to use reasonable care and skill, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Information is used to manage bookings, payments, care, emergencies and licensing duties. Relevant data may be shared with veterinary professionals, emergency services, insurers or regulators where necessary and lawful.
Additional charges and reasonable costs may arise after the agreed collection time. The cattery will contact the owner and emergency contact and follow lawful welfare procedures. Belongings are left at the owner’s risk except where the cattery failed to take reasonable care.
These are carefully drafted operational terms, not a substitute for advice from Dover District Council, the cattery’s insurer or a UK solicitor. No waiver can remove animal-welfare duties or liabilities that the law does not permit a business to exclude.
